It's that time of year again, fashion week! New York Fashion Week has just passed and now it's time to reflect on the looks shown.

Now, fashion week doesn't show too many bridal collections, but it's still good to touch on some looks. These looks could impact the styles of wedding gowns for the season. One trend I noticed while looking at different collections and looks, was the use of sheer and see-through fabrics (shown below).

-Jason Wu, S/S 23 Ready-To-Wear Collection

-Molly Goddard, S/S 23 Ready-To-Wear Collection

From working in a bridal salon, I had noticed more sheer and see-through bodices in the gowns. I can see this trend bleeding continuing for spring/summer weddings.

Another trend I noticed was cut-outs on the clothing. Whether it be rips or purposely structured cut-outs. Below are a couple examples.

-Elena Velez, S/S 23 Ready-To-W-ear Collection

-Del Core, S/S 23 Ready-To-Wear Collection

I can see this trend bleeding into bridal as well. It may not be as obvious as these cut-out shown, but I can see there being cut-out backs and sides of gowns. Many designers already are doing cut-out backs on wedding gowns and I think this trend will persist.

One look I had saw that I wanted to give an honorable mention is this one below.

-Area, S/S 23 Collection

This look stood out to me just because of how Avant Garde it is. I can't relate this look to bridal, but I think it deserves a shout out.

That's all for now, until next time,
