As we approach mid-October and Halloween, we start to see the rise of fall and gothic themed weddings. I know there's gothic themed weddings all year round, October is when we see the rise of them due to Halloween. I personally love the gothic aesthetic and would love to have a gothic wedding of my own. I will be showing some gothic wedding looks and talk about why I have chosen to show them.
The Color Black
Off the bat, when I think a gothic wedding gown, I think black. Black is an unconventional color for a wedding gown, but it can be beautiful. Black just doesn't have to be for "sad" occasions. You can put the "FUN" in funeral, and bring the fun to your wedding.
Shown below is a Royce Bridal black ballgown with long sleeves, illusion neckline, open, lace up back, and sexy high slit in the front. This gown screams gothic with the lace details that goes throughout the bodice and sleeves and to the tulle skirt. It has all of the elegance of a wedding gown and all of the edginess to be gothic. This is a perfect gown for a fall, gothic wedding.

Lace
Another aspect of a gothic wedding gown I think of is lace. Whether it be the lace in the gown above or the sequin details shown below that create a lace look. Lace in itself is a very elegant material, and when applied to a gothic gown, it just amplifies the whole look.
The gown below is from the Irregular Brides Esty shop. The gown is a black lace ,mermaid gown, with thin straps, deep v-plunge neckline, v-dip in the back, and a satin over skirt. This dress screams glamour. This is considered an "irregular" bridal gown due to it's color. If this was an ivory, cream, or white gown, I can see more brides wanting to buy this gown. But, since it is black, this is a perfect gown for the gothic bride who wants to look their very best and most glamourous self on their wedding day.

Gothic Weddings
To wrap up, October and Halloween bring out the dark and spookier side in us all. For some more than others, we are spooky and dark all year round. As we see a rise in gothic weddings this month, should pay attention to what the attire looks like, the decorations people are using, and what venues are being booked. The gothic themed wedding is here to stay for its niche and I'm here for it. Below are links to where you can purchase the gowns shown above and links to my new Pinterest boards based on this post.
